Based in Silicon Valley, we tackle the root causes of inequality and poverty by leading collaborative campaigns for quality jobs, healthy communities, equitable growth, and a democracy that works for all. We do not sit still: we convene the coalition-led Silicon Valley Rising, Gig Workers Rising, the Fair Workplace Collaborative, and the Trades Orientation Program (TOP).

Are you our next Development Manager?

  • You love building relationships with people and enjoy working with donors including donor relations, cultivation, communications and recognition.
  • You have strong project management skills through your performance on similar projects; you know when and how to coordinate and communicate your work with others.
  • You are not only a team player but you know how to “manage up” and sideways to support your supervisor and team members. You understand that you report directly to the Development Director and learn to work collaboratively with our executive team.
  • You are well organized and take pride in making sure that our systems and administrative functions are current and all team members can easily find information in our database and files.

As the Development Manager, your core responsibilities would be:

  • Leading fundraising and production for our annual fundraising event, Champions for Change, and other development events as needed.
  • Actively involved with Donor Cultivation with the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director.
  • Manages a portfolio of donors including donor relations, cultivation, communications and recognition.
  • Understanding of our organization’s history, mission, campaigns, and programs.
  • Effectively communicating team priorities, new opportunities, and challenges.
  • Providing additional support on the development team, the Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director, and the Board as needed.

 Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Alignment and agreement with Working Partnerships USA’s mission and values.
  • At least five years of experience as part of a development or fundraising team.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with demonstrated experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Understanding of basic financial information including developing budgets.
  • Ability to work under pressure with good judgment to identify when to ask for help.
  • Strong proficiency in computer skills and digital literacy.
  • Open and willing to build relationships with high wealth individuals on behalf of the organization.

Compensation and Location: This position is based out of San Jose, CA. Annual salary ranges from $73,500 - $90,500 and will be based on experience. Generous benefits package including full family health, dental, vision, and acupuncture/chiropractic insurance; paid vacations and holiday leave; and 401(k) with employer contributions.
